NKT's wails can already be heard. "All lies," they will say. They will throw a few temper tantrums as well no doubt. Threaten litigation again too perhaps. They will twist and manipulate. They will whine that they have heard it all before. They will do anything but practice Buddhism or find their souls.

What follows makes sense and is corroborated by substantial analyses from a wide range of Tibetan and Buddhism experts. On the other side, a fake Geshe and his misdirected gullible cult showing the world one of the worst fundamentalist campaigns falsely advertised as a humble and sincere religion.

According to Gyatso, only he is telling the truth. Everyone else is a liar. Gyatso's posters and array of 'truth' web sites say so, over and over, hoping that he can convince someone beyond his fawning flock. So far, his liar campaign, now over 12 years old, has yet to generate a convert (but has led to many to me kicked out of NKT and to many leaving NKT for better lives and for genuine forms of Buddhism).

June 1996, Gyatso sent a letter to Tibetan leaders,

"This statement is to the so-called Central Working Committee of the Tibetan National Democratic Society and the directors of the Regional Committees in Rajpur and Switzerland, which have no democratic rights in reality though they claim such...You will all fall down to hell.

The Dorje Shugden Devotees Charitable & Religious Society has sent letters directly to the Dalai Lama and cabinet but there has been no reply...

Mainly through the kindness of the Indian government and particularly the foreign relief organizations, we Tibetan refugees found a place to settle and receive aid...And it all happened in accordance with the incontrovertible prophecy of Dorje Shugden. ..

He (the Dalai Lama) spent his whole life only collecting the wealth of simple Tibetan people...."

NKT's fake Geshe, marketed Buddha, global land baron, and current and only living 'leader' of Shugden's lineage bellowed his bravado, as Gyatso was doing in his concurrent media blitz and public protests against the Dalai Lama.

Well, take that Tibet. Go to hell says Gyatso. The Dalai Lama is nothing but a greedy old man, regardless of decades of praise for the Dalai Lama from hundreds of millions of Buddhists around the world, hundreds of Buddhist monasteries and organizations, virtually all Tibetans and the Tibetan government, the Nobel peace prize organization, thousands of academic researchers, thousands of book stores around the world, hundreds of newspapers and book publishers, over a billion non-Buddhists, etc. We are all evil liars according to NKT.

The only ones against the Dalai Lama are the NKTites/Shugdenites and the communist Chinese government, both of whom protest against the Dalai Lama side by side wanting to end what they call the tyranny of the Dalai Lama system of government and spiritual leadership in Tibet for about 500 years by invoking Shugden wrath, exemplified here and here.

August 4, 1996, Tenpai Gyaltsan Dhongthog Rinpoche replied to Gyatso in a work entitled, "The Earth Shaking Thunder of True Word." Dhongthog Rinpoche is recognized as the 5th reincarnation of Jampal Rigpai Raldri by H.H. Sakya Dagchen Ngawang Junga Rinchen of Drolma Palace and served as head teacher of Dhongthog Rigdrol Phuntsog Ling Monastery, Kardze, Tibet.

Dhongthog Rinpoche's reply to Gyatso was "published with a very specific intention. Its purpose is to influence those who either ignore, doubt or misunderstand H.H. The Dalai Lama's advice regarding the propitiation of guardian deities. In particular, this work is aimed at rectifying the misguided view that certain practitioners have regarding Dolgyal cult."

Excerpts from the text follow (prepared 1996; published by Sapan Institute, Tibetan version, 1997; English version, 2000; reprinted 2006; available from Tibetan Buddhist Resource Center, New York City).

"Being the holder of the title, Rinpoche, it is incumbent upon me, as a sacred duty, to point out practitioners' mistakes and thus protect them from wrong views that are the cause of breaking their refuge vows.

The majority of Tibetans have accepted his (the Dalai Lama) advice and are practicing their faith with understanding and righteousness. However, a minority who have been influenced by the evil of certain rigid sectarians oppose His Holiness and undertake counter movements which can only lead to their own downfall and the downfall of others...I intend to dig up the root of the opponents' heretical view...this matter should be considered an insidious danger like smoldering fire concealed under ashes.

Phawong Khapa's (Pobangkha, 1878-1941) followers want H.H. the Dalai Lama to follow the doctrine of Phawong Khapa that implies that the Sakya, Kagyud and NYingma traditions are unacceptable as paths to ultimate liberation...This doctrine holds that the Gaden tradition is the only path that can lead practitioners to ultimate liberation.

In 1978, H.H. the Dalai Lama expelled Dzeme Tulku (author of The Yellow Book)...In 1987, in blatant opposition to His Holiness' advice, Dzeme commissioned the construction of Shugden statues...On March 29, 1983, H.H. the Dalai Lama ordered the destruction of the Shugden statue that had been made with the sponsorship of Pelzurwa Dorje Norbu...Upon hearing this order Dorje Pelzurwa became very angry and could not control his temper...he subsequently wrote a book entitled, "The Crystal Mirror in which Truth and Falsity reflect clearly, a Letter to Khamtul Jamyang Dhondrup"...Pelzurwa said in his book that the Dalai Lama would be responsible for the Buddhist doctrine coming to an end because he goes against his tutor's (Trijang Rinpoche) view. He also says that Shugden is better and more reliable than the state oracle, Nechung Dorje Dragden. All of this is wicked and baseless...Finally, the Chinese security had to escort him to China for his safety.

In England Geshe Kalzang Gyatso of Sera openly criticized the Dalai Lama and motivated about three hundred English students and followers to march around the Office of Tibet in London as a demonstration of his opposition. This event may be considered the first such incidence in the history of Tibet that a Tibetan national opposed and attacked our leader, our government and people in such a way. It is also well-known that Kalzang Gyatso commanded his students not to display any pictures of H.H. the Dalai Lama on their shrines or even in their rooms.

Tibetans cannot bear this outrageous behavior against the government and people of Tibet. The Tibetan National Democratic Society and other organizations sent letters of rebuke to him. But then, Kalzang Gyatso circulated two thousand copies of a pamphlet entitled, "A Sword that Cuts the Suffering Plaint of Tibetans-in-exile." He sent copies to high Tibetan officials and various associations.

The Dalai Lama's preclusion of Dolgyal practice resulted from a prophetic edict of the state oracle, Nechung Dorje Dragden, the dough-ball test in the presence of the sacred scroll painting of Shri Mahakali Devi that once belonged to the first Dalai Lama, Gedundrug, his own divination and careful research into the history of Shugden starting from the Great Fifth down to the present.

The Dalai Lama disclosed these matters to Trijang Rinpoche (1900-1981; Gyatso's root guru) with full explanation and instructed him on how to propitiate guardian deities. Trijang did not speak a single word against him, but agreed with him by supporting his advice. This is known by all, Tibetans and foreigners alike.

The cessation of Dolygyal practice is not an accumulation of bad karma. It is a necessary correction and a kind service to the Gadenpa tradition. The source of the Gadenpa tradition is Kadampa which was introduced into Tibet by Atisha Dipamkara (982-1054). This tradition accepts only four deities, namely, Buddha Shakyamuni, Avalokiteshvara, Tara and Miyowa...The Kadampa tradition gradually declined and by the fifteenth century the great Je Tzongkhapa Lobszang Dragpa (1357-1419) had revitalized it...Je Tzongkhapa also studied, practiced and disseminated Guhyasamaja, Chakrasamvara and Vajra Bhairava. Because of these practices he also propitiated guardian deities such as Mahakala, Dharmaraja and Veshravana.

During the time of the Great Fifth Dalai Lama, Tulku Dragpa Gyaltsen (1619-1655)...broke his commitment with his Vajra masters and this caused his troublesome death...Because of these negative circumstances his rebirth was in the form of a powerful, fierce spirit and there was a display of several frightening miracles. Because of this, the house of the deceased was razed, his memorial stupa was disassembled, and his corpse was packed into a box. The box was thrown into the Yarchab river and carried far away by the current to a southern area of Lhasa called Dol. The spirit settled there in Dol and so came to be known as Dolgyal. The spirit wondered there for a few years creating trouble for the Dalai Lama and his newly established Gaden Phodrang.

Dolgyal continued on westward until he reached Sakya monastery...Dagchen Rinpoche bound him spiritually (by the power of his meditation) and compelled him to cease harming people and the Dharma. Dolgyal was thus held in the custody of the Four-face Mahakala, Tsaturmukha, who was one of the three chief guardian deities of the Sakyapa doctrine...By this means the life of the Great Fifth Dalai Lama, the Tibetan government and the people of Tibet were protected from the danger of Shugden for some time.

In any case, practitioners do propitiate Dolgyal as the wrathful manifestation of Tulku Dragpa Gyaltsen...Because some of the former Gaden throne-holders had experienced unfortunate circumstances propitiating Dolgyal, the great Gaden throne-holders Ngawang Chogden (1677-1751) and Changkya Rolpai Dorje (1717-1786) banned Dolgyal practice.

In later years, Phawong Khapa Dechen Nyingpo introduced the rite of "Dorje Shugden Life Entrustment." The basis of this rite derived from an illusory dream that Tagphu Pema Dorje had which he believed was a "pure vision." Dolgyal Shugden was thus promoted to the level of a transworthy deity and adorned with the titles, "chief protector of the teachings of Manjushri-Tzongkhapa"and "war deity of the Gadenpa doctrine," Moreover, from his own subjective viewpoint, Phawong Khapa also introduced elaborations of Shugden such as, peaceful and wrathful forms, five-family forms, and sadhanas composed in the categories of outer, inner and secret. Phawong Khapa thus disgraced the Gadenpa tradition in a magnitude as great as Mount Sumeru by establishing this tainted system of propitiation that makes Shugden more important tnd favored than the traditional Gadenpa guardian deities, six-armed Mahakala, Dharmaraja and Shri Mahakali Devi.

The promotion of the wrathful incarnation of Tulku Dragpa Gyaltsen, who broke his spiritual commitment with these two kind lamas (Penchen Lobzang Ghogyen (1570-1662) and the Great Fifth Dalai Lama), to the high level of chief guardian deity of Manjushri-Tzongkhapa's doctrine is nothing less than perversity. It is amazing that Phawong Khapa said that even putting other Tibetan Buddhist books together with Gadenpa books is prohibited...

The basic difference between the Sakyapa view and that of Phawong Khapa is that the Sakya placate Shugden conditionally, providing him with offerings of food and shelter...Whereas Phawong Khapa (and you followers) propitiate Dolgyal with the idea that he came purposefully in this degenerate time to protect the Gadenpa doctrine. Therefore, there is a great difference; like the difference between feeding a criminal or assigning that criminal to a high rank and worshiping him. Aditionally, the Sakyapa also preserved the Buddha Dharma and saved the people of Tibet from harm by annihilating or restricting other spirits as well. These include Shangbal, Nyagrong Bulongma and others. So, please remember this kindness.

...the Nyingmapa position totally denies Shugden any status with guardian deities while the Sakyapa put him under control...

...in his (Phawong Khapa) later years he was influenced by evil forces and propagandized that Sakyapa, Kagyudpa and Nyingmapa traditions were false doctrines and that their practitioners could not achieve liberation...In this way he broadly denigrated the Tibetan religion in the guise of holy advice and by writing condemning letters to disciples and patrons. Moreover, with evil intent he tried to forcibly destroy the Sakya, Kagyud and Nyingma traditions by means of Chinese governmental intrusion. He attempted this by exerting his influence over Lui Chuntrang, an illegal Chinese governor in Kham province of Tibet. The rationale for this subversion was Phawong Khapa's assertion that eliminating all the various Tibetan Buddhist traditions, except the Gadenpa tradition, was superior to tolerating them since their doctrines were flawed. For those who wish to know all the details of this, you are referred to Phawong Khapa's collected works, volume Cha.

He (Phawong Khapa, aka Pobangkha) routinely propitiated Shugden for the specific purpose of attempting to undermine and damage the Sakya, Kagyud and Nyingma traditions...he led many people into a perverted path by pandering to their mundane desires. In summary, Phawong Khapa adopted a course that was singularly harmful to the Dharma and to the people. he thus became guilty of the ten grievous crimes against Buddhism...

Phawong Khapa was a learned and good lama at the beginning. One day he found a book buried underground when he was working on the restoration of a damaged stupa in the southern District of Lhasa, Tibet. He opened the book and found it to be a refutation against the Nyingma written by Drigung Paldzin. Reading this book caused him to lose faith in Nyingma.

His Holiness (the 13th Dalai Lama) was displeased with Phawong Khapa's behavior and banned his public teachings of the Shugden cult.

After the passing of the thirteenth Dalai Lama, Phawong Khapa became free from His Holiness's restriction and gained the chance to continue his bad activities.

There are many reliable stories about misfortunes such as suicides, strokes, accidental deaths and insanity occurring among those in monasteries, colleges and communities where Dolgyal is propitiated in contradiction to Mahakali and the Ku-Nga deities. Therefore, having been proven by reason, no one wise or foolish should contest the fact that the Dolgyal doctrine and its teacher are the destroyers of Tibetan Buddhist doctrine and the Tibetan people.

You who claim that Dolgyal is inseparable from Manjushri, what is the source of your assertions? There is no prophesy or scriptural reference to this in any Buddha's teachings or in any way the works of Indian Buddhist masters or in the works of Tzongkhapa.

There is no doubt that Dolgyal, a reborn ghost, propitiated as a chief guardian deity of the Gadenpa doctrine is not in agreement with Je Tzongkhapa's view.

Though I have not seen the letters sent by your plotting society of jackals and wolves, I have already outlined in detail the events and suffering that has ensued...

Your implication that the Dalai Lama decided to leave Tibet because of a Shugden prophecy is false.

The fact of the matter is that you, the followers of Phawong Khapa and Dzeme are the ones who always misapply the Dharma and this is why we face the current situation.

Because demons have overpowered your consciousness, you have accused your spiritual masters and Dharma friends. It is piteous that you have transgressed your commitments and become such a sinner.

Now, perhaps someone might think that we should not make any offerings and propitiation to worldly gods like Shugden and so forth at all. Generally, having taken the bodhisattva vows, how could it be possible to exclude any sentient being as an object of our giving?

There are those who say that the restriction on the practice of a cult of Dolgyal is a device to restrict freedom of religion. But it is not like that. It is the expression of our freedom of religion that we seek to preserve Buddhism by removing the stain of misconduct."

Letters to and about Gyatso from Sera Monastery (August 1996) offically expelling Gyatso are instructive and unequivocal, and other comments from Tibet are appropos...

From Sera Je,

"His Holiness The Dalai Lama is the undisputed leader of the six million Tibetans and a world renowned Buddhist leader as well as a respected statesman of great charisma for which he was awarded the prestigious 1989 Nobel Peace Prize among many others. His genuine concern for the welfare of the Tibetan people, the weak and the down trodden and his teachings on compassion to bring about a more humane and harmonious world and his call for the protection of all forms of life on our planet and their habitat in the form of what he termed as ‘Universal Responsibility’ has caught the imagination of the world and is held in great esteem by virtually the whole world irrespective of their religious affiliations or political ideology.

However, it is a measure of profound sorrow that a so called “Geshe” Kelsang Gyatso and his English supporters have embarked upon a ruthless smear campaign to tarnish the International stature of His Holiness The Dalai Lama in the name of alleged “religious persecution”. It is nothing short of blasphemy in the eyes of the overwhelming majority of the six million Tibetans.

It is nothing but a crude form of debasing the Dalai Lama for his own selfish ends...We have nothing but pity for your ignorance...Why not mind his own business and do what he likes in his own bigoted kingdom?

Actions speak louder than words and we are under no illusion with whom your sympathies are despite your statements to the contrary. The Tibetans all over the world were deeply distressed by your attempt to portray the Dalai Lama as a “ruthless dictator” an “oppressor of his own people” and smash his International stature so that the Tibetan struggle will be like a rudderless ship tossing helplessly in the sea of international intrigues and treacery. From where did you borrow your vocabulary to malign the Dalai Lama? Are they not straight from the Chinese propaganda dictionary?

These days, [in Kelsang Gyatso] the demonic cloud of overwhelming arrogance displays itself with a mass of deluded pride, like a bat who thinks he is above the sky…. This demon with broken commitments…. burns with the flame of unbearable spite towards the unsurpassed omniscient 14th Dalai Lama, the only staff of life of religious people in Tibet, whose activities and kindness are equal to the sky.

...Kelsang Gyatso who is today a pariah in the Tibetan community...

We advise him to accept the fact that he is an ordinary being and stand no chance whatsoever to challenge the Dalai Lama. He is not even a Geshe. The so called “third Buddha” is a figment of imagination conjured up by his fawning desciples as a propaganda tool to attract more people to his centre and that it should not go to his head.

Kelsang himself has transgressed the eight shortcomings of relying wrongly upon his own spiritual master H.H. The Dalai Lama. According to the circular released by the Sera Jhe Tsangpa Khangtsen, to whom Kelsang belonged, he had received both sutra and tantric teachings from H.H. The Dalai Lama when he was in Tibet. He had received the fifth Dalai Lama’s Lamrim Jampel Shalung at the Norbu Linka summer palace and the Kalachakra Initiation in 1956 from H.H.The Dalai Lama which incidently was the first Kalachakra initiation by the fourteenth Dalai Lama. As it were, there is simply no question of his not being a desciple of H.H. The Dalai Lama but he has ignored this aspect and launched a blistering attack on the Dalai Lama in the name of “religious persecution” along with his gullible followers. The outcome of all this attempt to denigrate the person of the of Dalai Lama by Kelsang clearly transgressed his spiritual relationship with the Dalai Lama and though he has mentioned in his letter that “all of us are destined to go to hell”, we are in no doubt that he will infact be the one who will land in hell.

We have therefore stripped him of his membership from our Sera Jhe Dratsang since the holy scriptures have clearly prescribed to evict such apostates who will foul the Sanga community’s spiritual purity and serenity and will have a negative influence for the whole community. Owing to the above reasons contained in the holy Tantric treatises, the Sera Jhe Dratsang’s Abbot and ex-abbots, Reincarnations of holy Lamas, Geshes, and the House Masters of the fifteen different Houses unanimously decided to strip Kelsang Gyatso of his membership in the Sera Jhe Dratsang and his own House had earlier done the same.

He states that for the last eighteen years the Dalai Lama has done nothing!!! His hatred towards the Dalai Lama obscures him from seeing any merit of the Dalai Lama...It is not the fault of the holy Buddha, nor Lama Tsongkhapa nor H.H.The Dalai Lama but the beholder like Kelsang Gyatso whose demonic instinct get the better of them...He is an object of pity and nothing else.

We sincerely hope that the cult leader and his fanatical supporters go through this and think twice before their vitriolic outpourings on the holy person of the Dalai Lama. We believe you would trust the Chinese version more than ours and because of this we took the liberty to quote from the Chinese communist periodical. It would be even better if you would care to go through the whole article and you will be surprised that even the Chinese communists have far greater respect for the Dalai Lama than cult leader Kelsang Gyatso and his cultists in Cumbria, England!!! What’s more, if any one disagrees with his “pure” cult, he gets the boot...But with Kalsang anything goes, after all he is the “third buddha” in the British Isles.

His venomous invectives against the Dalai Lama is unbecoming of a Buddhist...

The sacrilege he was committing by banning the photos of the Dalai Lama and even the utterance of his name in the premises of his cult kingdom. It is an unheard piece of news which every Tibetan will condemn with the severest indiction. The motivation behind this act was, he was now planning to wean away innocent, unsuspecting, young minds towards his cultist school called the “New Kadampa Tradition” which imposes a ban on Tibet’s Spiritual and Temporal leader the Dalai Lama and thus undermine his authority even in the exile community. His single minded motivation now is to undermine the authority of the Dalai Lama and maroon the Tibetan people. This is unacceptable to the six million Tibetans and we will challenge him for this.

In his apparent ecstasy, he even disowns being a Tibetan and works against the very people where he was born.

His Holiness Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama, is the embodiment of the compassion of all Buddhas, the golden flower in the land of snows, Tibet, the form of the deity who has appeared in Tibet, the representative of Buddha Shakyamuni, the spiritual leader of all Buddhists in the world, and the great advocate of non-violence.

For those who come from the land of snow mountains, to find in His Holiness our sacred source of refuge for this and future lives is truly our inborn nature, like our eyes which give us sight and our innermost heart.

(referring to Gyatso)...Possessed by a terrible demon, without shame, embarrassment, or modesty, he doesn't have even the slightest care or concern for any of the commitments of the three vows [pratimoksha, bodhicitta, and tantric] which he undertook.

He continuously broadcasts blatantly shameless mad pronouncements, attacking with baseless slander His Holiness the Dalai Lama, whose kindness for us, the people of Tibet, has been greater that the Buddhas of the three times. These unimaginable statements which defame the name of His Holiness have created an urgent adverse situation which no Tibetan can tolerate.

Therefore, all those connected with Sera Je College, lamas and tulkus, abbots, former executives, senior and junior geshes, together with the leaders of the individual khangtsen [regional houses], all together, in agreement, with one voice, hereby proclaim that on this day, August 22, 1996, Kelsang Gyatso, the one with broken commitments and wrong view, is cast out with the "ritual nine expulsions," and is thereby banished from this place, and the being a part of the rule of our College.

This means that we request all of our brothers and sisters, the Tibetan people inside and outside Tibet, to completely sever any relationship with him. Concerning the practice of worshiping divine protectors at this Monastery in particular, the protector who was directed by the previous great masters to advise, command, and look after our Monastery is the Dharma protector Dregpa Chamsing [Dregs Pa lCam Sring). Aside from this protector there has traditionally been no worship of Dolgyal [Dorje Shugden].

These days, we keep in the honored position on the crown of our heads the instructions of our Government, the great Ganden Potrang. Therefore, all sangha who reside here, as evidence of their commitment not to worship the protector Dolgyal, have freely signed such a pledge, and offered it before the clear eye of His Holiness. Beyond that, anyone who is not blind should be able to comprehend this with their ordinary eye of understanding and mind of attachment and aversion; as they say, no one needs a lamp to make things clear in the light of the sun and moon.

For the future, we publicly make the strongest request to everyone not to associate the good name of Sera Je Monastery with this holder of broken commitments and wrong view."

Representatives of the Tibetan people echoed these sentiments about Gyatso's fall from the Buddhist path.

For example, from the Freedom Movement, Youth Congress, Tibetan Women's Association and representatives of the Three Provinces Movement,

"… you are doomed life after life… telling others not to keep pictures of the Dalai Lama reveals that, although you wear the mask of a religious practitioner, in reality you are the running dog of China and Taiwan. Therefore, we the Tibetan people both inside and outside Tibet will unitedly stand against you as a source of harm to the spiritual and temporal affairs of Tibetans."

From Tibetans in Dharamsala to 'All the followers of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso',

"It is also a well-known fact that due to a slight disagreement on views with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, you had banned portraits of His Holiness in your business-oriented Dharma centers. This insane and demeanous (sic) act had caused disgrace to the Tibetans as a whole and is no better than the savageous acts of the Red Chinese. We, the six million Tibetans, solemnly denounce these ill-acts."

From Tibetan Community, Kathmandu, Nepal,

"We feel called upon ourselves to let you know of certain facts about him so that his impudent ravings do not lead astray well-meaning followers of the path….Your "guru" has the misguided audacity to challenge the omniscience of the Compassionate One to the utter disgust of us all."

In a 1996 response to Gyatso's letter referred to above, a Tibetan wrote,

"I suspect that this may have been instigated by the Chinese communists as his accusations of H.H. the Dalai Lama are so baseless, convoluted and depraved...Kalzang Gyatso praises the spirit, Dolgyal, with such exaggeration, trying to make him the powerful guardian of the Gelugpa doctrine, with such falsification that there is no truth whatsoever. He has caused a schism by claiming that His Holiness restricts and suppresses the Gelugpa doctrine...If one is blind, everything that appears in front is only darkness...it is the responsibility of all knowledgeable lay and ordained individuals of the snow-land of Tibet to strongly refute, with the three methods of reason, scripture and instruction, the one that hurts Buddhism in general and the Gelugpa school in particular with his evil conduct and distorted views. Having distinguished between bragrant flowers and poisonous grass, we should defeat this propounder of perversity."

According to an NKTite 2/19/09, "The Dalai Lama doesn’t stand a chance in his battle against the Wisdom Buddha Dorje Shugden!"

A few months ago, we learned from an NKTite that Shugden saved the Dalai Lama's life, which is 'proven' with Gyatso's uncle's (Shugden's oracle) comments heard by someone in 1959 when this 'witness' was the only one present.

Not yet known is whether Gyatso responded to the August 1996 reply quoted above to Gyatso's June 1996 letter against Tibet. NKTites profer the following Gyatso teaching from 2004 to establish that Gyatso's root guru Trijang endorsed Gyatso's Shugdenism and campaign against Tibetan Buddhism,

"Sometimes if we mix ordinary view and profound Dharma, then it causes people more confusion. For we Buddhists the confusion is enough! It is everywhere, big confusion in Buddhist people. Because previously our Buddhist texts were very profound and modern people found them very difficult to understand. Buddhist Teachers are also giving teachings following the tradition of their own country, which is very difficult for people in other countries to understand. In this way, there is huge confusion.

So now our responsibility, the main job of Kadampa Buddhist Teachers, is to disappear the confusion of the people throughout the world. We should never cause confusion to increase. Therefore, you need certain skillful methods.

Even for myself, at the very beginning it was very difficult. If I taught according to the Tibetan tradition, Western people found it very difficult to accept or understand-there was not much meaning for them. If I taught my own presentation, a different design, I worried because I need to follow my lineage Gurus’ tradition. So big problem, you know. Every Teacher who came from ancient country, from Eastern country, had this problem. But I solved my problem when I had my last meeting with my Spiritual Guide Trijang Rinpoche.

At that time, he was near passing away, so I went to India to see him. I had a very good opportunity to have a long meeting. I made him a long-life ritual prayer called “ten shu” with an assembly of monks, and then I had a long meeting. During this, I asked many questions about my own problem, because if I taught according to the Tibetan tradition, Western people found it difficult to accept because they are not like Tibetan people. They are educated people who went through school and university or college. They have learned a lot. They are knowledgeable people. They will not follow blind faith. They immediately check how it is true or not. They immediately want practical things. So if we follow our own tradition, it is very difficult. So now I gave many lists from Sutra and Tantra, now what do we do with this?

He said clearly, “Don’t worry! My students are Tibetan people. Your students are people from other countries. Of course, you teach with different methods. Of course, your presentation of Dharma is necessarily going to be different than mine, because people’s characteristics, nature, capacity, wishes, and society are different.”

He said this and I was so happy that he gave me permission. He said: “You don’t worry. Buddha himself said that the way of presenting Buddhadharma should be like the way a doctor gives medicine to different people. The doctor never gives one medicine to everybody, every sick person. Different sick people receive different medicines, because they are not the same. Similarly, the way of presenting Dharma is necessarily going to be different according to different people.”

He told me this example. So then I realized that he gave me permission to make a new design for the people of the modern world. So we did, and it works very well."

Gyatso claims that Trijang approved Gyatso's different design of Buddhism, though still unclear if this included authorization for Gyatso's Shugdenism as part of Gyatso's new design of Buddhism for Westerners. Certainly, Trijang's purported approval of Gyatso's Shugden war against the Dalai Lama has not been established. Could Trijang and Gyatso really have discussed Shugden worship as Trijang was "near passing away"? Interestingly, Gyatso asserts that Tibetan people are not educated and they follow blind faith.


Shugdenites need money. Their number 1 need - money for their lawsuit against the Dalai Lama and India. Not for compassionate works to help the poor, the hungry, the homeless, the sick or the suffering, but for a lawsuit.

One response a month, oh my. Perhaps, Gyatso could tax his motel, restaurant, 'public' housing and tantra festival customers and donate cash to Shugden.


You can feel the seething hatred for the Dalai Lama and the pro-communist Chinese government sentiment from Shugdenites, who want your money for their mission against Buddhism. For example,

"I was recently astonished or startled by the tempo or tone of the Phayul chat line converstaions or lack thereof. I found voices that were as the Ghouls or Zombies of 28 Days Later. Absolutely like animals cornered into a box or cage. If the Dalia lama’s operates his web site in Dharmasala as Rush Limbaugh apparently the moderator is disgustingly misguided and very sad. It is clear that the battle is over with DL. I am extremely distressd by Dl allowing the Tibetans to become so disenfranchised from the outer world is beyond sad. It is deplorable and criminal. He has no conscience or sense of guilt as to how perverted he has forced the once simple people to be as Pit Bulls snarling and growling with hate and spite. I had the sense that I had entered Marquis De Sade 17th century insane asylum, with people shrilling with insane laughter and mockery from within the Dalia Lama’s Black Magic Cult towards all outsiders. Evil pervades the Tibetan Colonies as the similarities that culminated in the Salem Witch Trials are all too apparent in the daily life of these Tibetans outcast. Sooner or later the Indian Government will expedite the removal of the Tibetan Colonies from India and these refugees will file homeward towards thier own country, for better or worse, to fulfill their dreams from within their own country, China. Once home these savy Tibetans should be able to capitalize on the billion of dollars the Chinese have poured into this once slave state operated by the Dalia lama lineage through terror and fear. Yes! it is finished and these refugess will go home and be refugees no more."
