Kelsang Gyatso Disobeyed by NKT

Many years ago, Kelsang Gyatso stated,

"Some small group in our NKT society engage in meaningless activity on the internet, not only Sangha, some lay. This is incorrect. We are Kadampa practitioners, Kadampa Teachers. Why are we enjoying meaningless activity, discussion? We can have a meaningful discussion with pure practitioners or senior practitioners, Teachers. There is no meaning in talking about silly things publicly on the internet. No meaning engaging in silly question and answers on the internet. Please Gen-la Khyenrab, pass my message. I am telling you for your purpose and our society’s purpose. In this way, keep individuals and society pure and show very good example."

"we decided to completely stop being involved in this Shugden issue because we realized that in reality this is a Tibetan political problem and not the problem of Buddhism in general or the NKT."

Violating Kelsang Gyatso, NKT leadership has created numerous web sites and thousands of blog posts to attack, further political ambitions, proselytize Shugden distortions and threaten disbelievers in these efforts.

This is one time that Kelsang Gyatso was right. By violating his views, NKT leadership became the largest impediment for NKT to entice and keep converts to NKT's so-called new Kadampa tradition (1991-present), which by the way violates the principles of Kadampa and New Kadampa Buddhism introduced by Atisha (980-1054) and Tsongkhapa (1357–1419), respectively.

NKT is a mess, most controversial. Buyer beware. What at first can seem pious inexorably leads to extremism.

See for yourself. Google 'NKT controversy'. There are over 50,000 resulting stories. Google 'Shugden controversy' and you will find over 30,000 stories. Also, click on Images within the Google searches to review NKT's protest political rallies.

NKT is successful at and most famous for generating controversy.

Editors Note:
Neither Atisha nor Tsongkhapa practiced Shugdenism. Nor did Buddha Shakyamuni 2,500 years ago. Shugdenism began in Tibet a few hundred years ago, becoming a small ultra-orthodox anti-harmony sect by the mid 1900s. NKT turned a distorted Shugdenism into a worldwide angry poliitcal cult and successful business during the 1990s. Not until NKT did anyone protest against the Dalai Lama, especially strange since NKT specifically broke away from all schools of Buddhism, especially Tibetan Buddhism. Nothing written by the Dalai Lama, Atisha, Tsongkhapa or any other Buddhist teacher, including transcriptions of Buddha Shakyamuni, are permitted inside NKT.
