Proud they are.

A year ago, Shugdenites unveiled their $7,000 movie cartoon of their god's story. The comic book promised a year ago has just been released. A real page turner too. There's a murder plot inspired by Nechung and directed by Shugden himself, against himself so that he could hover around as a spirit for dirty tricks. There's famine and devastation resulting from his transition. There's promises for good health and money if you believe in him. Redemption promised.

Says readers...

"Amazing!!! This is perhaps the coolest comic super hero I've come across...this looks like the perfect x'mas gift this year."

"Fantastic stuff - very innovative and creative, and a wonderful way to bring the powerful stories of Dorje Shugden previous incarnation to people everywhere, in a way that best suits people's interests today."

"I love this comic and rejoice at the holy work."

Recounted, the epic struggle of Shugden to emerge in his ultimate form, a wrathful spirit to torment his disbelievers. The behavioral mythology that NKT considers a religion and uses to forge its massive worldwide real estate wealth.

The creation of Shugden and Shugdenism caused suffering, for which present day Shugdenites celebrate and seek

The comic book says that Shugden arose 350 years ago as an emanation of Buddha Manjushri to protect the teachings of Tsongkhapa, who himself was an emanation of Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri and Vajrapani.

Notwithstanding arising 350 years ago, his first recorded incarnation was Birwapa (837-909). His name means 'bad man'. He was famous for stopping the earth's rotation to get out paying his bar bill.

Birwapa took rebirth as Sakya Pandita (1182-1251), who took rebirth as Buton Rinchen Drub (1291-1364), who took rebirth as Duldzin Drakpa Gyeltsen, one of Tsongkhapa's 8 closest disciples.

One day, during a teaching from Tsongkhapa, a white dove (Nechung) appeared, telling Duldzin to protect Tsongkhapa's teachings and to become the Gaden Tripa, or throne holder of Tsongkhapa.

Duldzin took rebirth as Panchen Sonam Dragpa (1478-1554), the 15th Ganden Tripa.

Panchen took rebirth in 1619 as Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen and became one of the 2 candidates for the position of the 5th Dalai Lama, ie a candidate for the reincarnation of the 4th Dalai Lama, who died under suspicious circumstances (some say he was poisoned - in 1917 at the age of 27. Instead, Ngawang Lobsang Gyatso became the 5th Dalai Lama.

Nechung appeared to Duldzin Drakpa Gyeltsen, reminding him of his promise a couple lifetimes earlier to protect Tsongkhapa's teachings, a promise he had forgotten. He promised Nechung again....this time to arise as a wrathful Protector spirit. Nechung began creating the conditions for him to manifest as a supreme protector, the most important and powerful of all protectors.

Nechung planted the idea in followers of the Dalai Lama to kill Duldzin. They tried poison, but Duldzin expelled it.

To assist their quest, Duldzin invited the monks conspiring to kill him to his room, telling them that he knew of their plot (inspired by Nechung) and the only way to do so was to choke him with a khata.

As Duldzin was suffocating, fierce wrathful energy arose in him and he went into Clear Light at the age of 38....producing Shugden AND earthquakes, famines and drought.

Several hundred years later according to the comic book (well actually, only a couple hundred, but whose counting accurately), Tagphu Pemavagra appeared. He went to Gaden heaven and saw Duldzin Drakpa Geltsen there, who told Tagphu to teach Shugden lore. While in Gaden heaven, Tagphu received the teachings and oral transmission of Shugden from Shugden himself. These teachings were passed to Pabangka (1878-1941) and Trijang Rinpoche (1901-1981). Here the comic book ends....without mention of Shugden's most ardent supporters, NKT and its founder Kelsang Gyatso, a self-proclaimed Geshe who trained with Trijang during the 1970s (Kelsang Gyatso insists that Trijang instructed him to export a westernized form of Shugdenism to the west).

Incredibly, even though Shugdenites hold to the idea that Nechung inspired the purported murder of Duldzin Dragpa Gyeltsen in order for Shugden to arise and that Duldzin Dragpa Gyeltsen instructed followers of the 5th Dalai Lama how to kill him (Duldzin), Shugdenites hate everyone and particularly the Dalai Lamas for their role's counter to Shugdenism. They even blame the 5th Dalai Lama for being a fake Dalai Lama and a murderer. They despise the people purportedly inspired by Nechung in creating Shugden to create Shugden via the purported murder of Duldzin Dragpa Gyeltsen.

A great comic indeed. Please do not show it to your children.

Editors Note:
While Shugdenites applaud this web site for covering Shugden, we know of no reason to abandon honest spirituality and compassion for Shugden stories. We do not deny anyone's pursuit of Shugden. Go ahead. But, it is a waste of time and it is not Buddhism. Shugdenism and NKT will not bring you health, success and money. Rather, they will take these from you.

Shugdenites start and end with hate. It is their vicious circle. Shugdenism dwells on attachments to ego and vengence, now including a cartoon movie and a comic book. Shugdenism has no affinity for actual compassion, the path for spiritual realization.

NKT gets too much credibility in the 'modern world', the result of good marketing, vast real estate holdings and a clergy of monks and nuns who dress up as Tibetan Buddhists (who, NKT claims, are corrupt and degenerate and whose written teachings are banned inside NKT). It is a veneer, using an apparent form of Buddhism to extend a business and to reach political aims that have harmed many as well as Buddhism, which may someday become an historical relic if NKT has its way. The global concern about what NKT is doing to Buddhism, Tibet and the Dalai Lama is valid.

As for this comic book, we prefer the actual teachings of Shakyamuni and Tsongkhapa, which by the way never mention Shugden or offer any basis for Shugdenism or NKT.
